Boiler Feed Pump - Machined (BFP-1M)
3/8 Diameter Bore, 3/4 Stroke A small hand-operated, piston-type hydraulic pump used to replenish boiler water while boiler is in use and under pressure. Also used to hydrostatically test your boiler and other hydraulic applications. These pumps have been known to produce up to 400 psi. Constructed of a cast bronze body, brass end cap and packing nut, with stainless steel piston and valves. Overall dimensions are 3 3/4 length, 4height, 1 3/4 width, threaded 5/16-27 (1/16 NPT). Galloway Hit & Miss Engine 1/3 Scale Casting Kit
This is a 1/3 scale model of the 5hp Galloway produced by the William Galloway Co. of Waterloo, Iowa in 1908. Galloway used the mail order approach to sell their engines. These engines were sold in stationary or portable form.
The finished engine built from this kit is substantial and weighs approx. 90 lbs. The size of this engine makes it capable of doing real work and is a real attention getter at shows. The plans are all drawn in CAD. The ignition system is an ignitor low tension ignition system. If preferred it can be easily changed to work with a spark plug and more common system such as a buzz coil or auto spark coil and points.
The flywheels are 10" in diameter and require a fairly large lathe to machine. The minimum recommended equipment size to build this engine are a 13 x 40 lathe and a knee mill such as a Bridgeport or clone. It may be possible to build this on a smaller machine but it is not recommended.
